Managing Sources and Notes with Zotero

Zotero (www.zotero.org) is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources. The lastest version has dramatically improved the usability and accessibility of the tool, making it a good alternative or companion to EndNote. This workshop will get you started, demonstrating practical applications for theological research and writing.

Introduction to EndNote X2

Learn how to find and save resources from the Emory catalog and article databases, create topical libraries, and quickly format citations and bibliographies. Digital Images for Biblical Interpretation

Where can I find images to illustrate church bulletins, worship programs, or Bible class materials? How about images for digital projection to illustrate my presentations? This workshop will introduce you to online resources to support your use of visual art in teaching and ministry, as well as provide suggestions about museum photography. It will identify key Internet sites for images and information about artists and their works, as well as offering basic guidance on copyright issues.

From Creation to Storage: The Administration of Local Church Records

Description
United Methodist Church pastors have a disciplinary responsibility to properly create and manage their church reports and records. This workshop will address why it is important to manage committees, to effectively compose charge conferences and reports, and to manage these and other documents. Participants will be introduced to different spects of a records management program including the reasons for records management, the theories of records life cycle, appraisal, and retention scheduling, issues related to electronic records management (ERM), and the formation of a local church records committee. We will also briefly explore the relationship of archives and records management and how the archival record has played a significant role within theology.

Unicode Fonts for Religious Studies
