Description: Joseph's brothers return to Egypt bearing gifts from their father, Jacob. The image is flanked by Eve in the garden (left, serpent in the tree overhead) and a female figure, Ecclesia, representing the Church, with the Eucharistic chalice in one hand, the cross (perhaps alluding to John the Baptist as proto-evangelist) in the other, and the bronze serpent (cf. Numbers 21) lifted up overhead. The initials of the artist or engraver (VW) have been placed in the lower right corner of the woodcut.
