Author: Mandosio, Prospero, approximately 1648-1709

Image Title: Printer's Mark

Scripture Reference:

Description: A printer’s device of an unknown printer features three putti encircling and holding an open book. On a ribbon wrapped around the three putti is the Latin motto IMPRIMIT UNA DIES QUANTUM NON SCRIBITURANO, which can translate to either “Impresses in one day what cannot be written in a year,” or “One day impresses upon what cannot be written in a year.” Preceding the motto is a symbol that combines an anchor, a cross, and a heart with the letters I and L inside. The cross and heart became standard Christian symbols for faith and love, and the anchor became associated with hope when connected to Hebrews 6:19, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure”.
