Description: Matthias Scheits' (c. 1630-1700) depiction John’s vision of the Lamb approaching the throne as the one worthy to open the scroll; the twenty-four elders with their incense and harps cast down their crowns and worship the Lamb, as the four living creatures and the entire heavenly host join them. At the top are the four horsemen of the apocalypse (center), the martyrs under the altar receiving white robes (right), and the destruction of the heavenly bodies (left).
