Description: The left page is divided into three panels by pillars of smoke or clouds. In the bottom center, Saint Carlo Borromeo (1548-1584) approaches an altar with the host. An altar boy bears a papal triple-cross crozier, and an angel serves as the acolyte. In the top left panel, a crowned David flees toward the Mount of Olives after Absalom's rebellion carrying a lyre. In the top right frame, Jesus leads his disciples toward the gated Mount of Olives. On the right page, Saint (Virgin) Mary, holding a book, and Saint (Angel) Gabriel, holding a lily, stand on plinths on either side of several German prayers.
