Description: Jesus ben Sirach translates and finishes the Book Ecclesiasticus while a young man assists him. The pyramids in the background indicate that Egypt was the site of the book’s translation from Hebrew to Greek. The engraver, Michael van der Gucht (1660–1725), has placed his signature in the lower left.
