Description: As the Israelites cross the Jordan River, the Ark of the Covenant stands in the midst of the river bed, and twelve stones are gathered for an altar on the other side of the river. The artist’s signature (Otto Elliger) is located at the lower left corner, and the engraver’s (Joseph Mulder, 1659/60-1718) at the lower right.
