Description: This image depicts Samson slaying a lion at the vineyards of Timnah. At the top Jephthah arrives home from battle to be greeted by his daughter. To the top-left an angel appears to Manoah and his wife from the fire of their sacrifice. Shortly afterwards, Manoah’s wife gives birth to Samson. In the top-right corner Samson and his wife give a feast. To the bottom middle-left foxes with torches tied to their tails burn down the Philistines field of grain. In the bottom-left corner, Samson kills a thousand Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey. To the left Samson drinks water after slaying the Philistines. To the bottom middle-right Samson escapes with the doors of the Gaza city-gate. In the bottom-right corner Delilah cuts Samson’s hair.
