Description: This engraving is the eighth of seventeen illustrating the dedication or consecration of a church. The bishop goes around the interior of the church blessing it with holy water which he takes from the aspersorium (a basin used to contain holy water) with a branch of hyssop that he uses as an aspergillum (instrument used for sprinkling holy water).
