Description: Jesus converses with Nicodemus at night about being born again from water and spirit. At the top there are two scenes depicting a baptism and the receiving of the Holy Spirit (symbolized by a dove). Includes the monogram of the woodcutter, Christoffel van Sichem II (1577-1658); his son, Christoffel van Sichem III (1618-1659), may have collaborated with him on these images, and an engraver’s knife in the bottom left corner.
