Description: Mary, wearing a crown and holding a scepter, holds the infant Jesus who makes a sign of blessing with his right hand and holds a globus criciger in the other. Mary stands on a crescent and a serpent. Includes the monogram of the woodcutter, Christoffel van Sichem II (1577-1658); his son, Christoffel van Sichem III (1618-1659), may have collaborated with him on these images. The image also includes an engraver’s knife in the coils of the serpent on the right.
