Description: Jesus is crucified between two criminals, and the soldiers cast lots for Jesus’ clothing. Over his head is a sign that reads “INRI.” Women mourn at the base of the cross. Includes the monogram of the woodcutter, Christoffel van Sichem II (1577-1658) at the base of the cross; his son, Christoffel van Sichem III (1618-1659), may have collaborated with him on these images. The image also includes the engraver's initials (HG) in the bottom left corner.
