Description: Judas comes with an armed crowd to arrest Jesus and signals Jesus’ identity with a kiss. In the foreground, Peter strikes Malchus, the slave of the high priest, cutting off his ear. In the background, a man runs off without his cloak. Includes the monogram of the woodcutter, Christoffel van Sichem II (1577-1658); his son, Christoffel van Sichem III (1618-1659), may have collaborated with him on these images. The image also includes the engraver's initials (HG) in the bottom right corner.
