Description: This image comes from “Trophaeum Vitae Solitariae,” dated 1598, bound with “Solitudo, sive, Vitae patrum eremicolarum”. Saint Venerius (560-630), a hermit and monk, reading in a cave. The artist responsible for the design was Maarten De Vos, but the engraving for the volume was done by Raphael Sadeler I, whose names are at the base.
