Image Title: The Advocate

Description: A skeleton (= Death) holds an hourglass, representing human mortality, over an advocate. The advocate is seen eagerly accepting a bribe in a dispute involving the poor man at right. The 41 images of Hans Holbein's "The Dance of Death" (Lyon, 1538) were cut by Hans Luetzelburger and here appear in the 1542 Latin edition of the work.
