However, historically they lived in the 3rd century CE. Maternus was the Bishop of Cologne (r. c. 285-315 CE), Eucharius was the first Bishop of Trier (r. c. 250 CE), and Valerius was the second Bishop of Trier (r. c. 250 CE).
