Scripture Reference:

Description: The image depicts a man on his deathbed, with his gaze fixed on the crucifix standing on a table at the foot of the bed, as mourners gather and angels receive his soul, depicted as a small person; outside the window, the poor man Lazarus is taken to heaven, lying at the door of the rich man's house and Stephen kneels as he is stoned to death. The Latin superscription reads, "Who dies in a state of grace, he is assured of Heaven," and the text below, "What better things are there for him who approaches Olympus? Whoever departs from here in the favor of the pure heavens.".
