Image Title: Fulfillment of the Law

Scripture Reference:

Description: As the people of Israel looked on a snake and were healed (Numbers 21), so half of the crowd in this image gaze on a snake lifted on a pole, while the other half look on the crucified Christ. In the center, there is a tree, above which God sits in the clouds, looking down. The pole, tree, and cross each bear the command "Love." The Latin superscription reads, "Love is the fulfillment of the law" (Romans 13:10) and the text below, "How thus should I bind the law to myself, briefly, that it might be carried to perfection in me? The height of the law, LOVE: do this, and you will be made perfect".
