Description: On the title-page is the monogram of Virgil Solis (1514-1562), and below that the printer's device of Sigmund Feyerabend (1528-1590), one of the most accomplished printers at Frankfurt am Main, which features the Roman goddess Fama (Greek, Pheme), who represented rumor. Shown with trumpets and wings, she was renown for reporting abroad all that she heard and saw.
