The work contains a Low German adaptation of Luther's “Klug Hymnal,” the standard Lutheran hymnal, which was first printed 1529 by Joachim Klug in Wittenberg and includes Luther's preface, from the “Wittenberger Gesangbuch” (Wittenberg hymnal) of 1524, as well as a number of other hymns collected by Slüter.
